2006 Nitro Buggy Pointscore Series Round # 2

Friday night saw another awesome display of hard and fast Nitro Buggy action with 22 drivers competing for points in the 2006 Series. Some super fast laptimes were being acheived on the 175m short track sprint circuit, with the top drivers breaking into the low 24 second bracket. The tough 5 minute Sprint race format encourages some spectacular, aggressive close racing, with drivers pushing the limits of themselves and their cars. Again we saw the Junior drivers show a clean pair of heels to some of the top drivers with Kyle Hodges in his first points event driving a Caster ZX1 RTR making it into the Top Ten ahead of some seasoned drivers, and taking out first place in both the Junior and RTR classes.

Saturday night saw the Nitro Trucks take to the track, with some excellent racing between the two RB powered HN Racing trucks of Phillip Ciccone and Tony Knauth, both drivers putting on a great show of close clean racing with the overall lead swapping several times over the night, it came down to the last race of the night with Tony just taking the win from Philllip in Round 1 of the 2006 Pointscore Series.
