2007 UPGRADE / RCID Nitro Buggy Pointscore Series Rnd # 11
We are now getting down to the pointy end of the 2007 Pointscore Series, with only 2 rounds left to run, the Pro Buggy No 1 spot appears to be sewn up by Tony Knauth, but 2, 3 and 4 are still very much up for grabs between Neil Igram, Tam Bui and Gary Bui, after doing some hyperthetical scenarios on the outcome of the Series this may very well come down to the last heat of season, which is going to make for some awesome battles between these 3 very talented drivers. The Junior Buggy series has Kyle Hodges out in front with an unbeatable lead over Henry Bui who has a very slim lead over third placed Aaron Snowball. The top 2 RTR Buggy Series spots are still very much open with only 3 points between leader Rory O,Connor and Tim Nicol, Scott Newhouse moving his way up the ladder to third place overall, The 2007 Series is the biggest yet with 50 drivers now competing for points.
Now on to the race action from Round #11.
Round #1 was again as usual an awesome battle between the Top drivers from OCR, Tony Knauth HN X1CR - RB getting out to an early lead to put about 20 seconds on the field only to flame out on lap 9, letting the flying Gary Bui Xray - Maxpower take the lead with Nathan Tampe again back driving his HN X1CR, powered by a Sirio Kania III close behind, and thats the way it fininshed with Nathan just 4.28 secs behind Gary and Tony after restarting able to pull back the feild and finish in third just ahead of Neil Ingram, and visiting driver Rob Ralston from Perth WA finishing in eight ahead of Phil Ciccone and Scott Newhouse.
Round #2 again had Gary Bui out in front, Gary the only driver in the 33 second bracket, it seems the new circuit is really suiting his driving style, Neil Ingram chasing him all the way though to to finish 9.13 seconds behind and Tony Knauth just 1.89 secs behind him, with Tam Bui in fourth and Jamie Fava fifth.
Round #3 was a real family affair with Gary Bui in first, Tam Bui in third and Henry Bui in fourth, Tony Knauth splitting them up to take second place behind Gary.
Round #4 almost as if it was to easy Gary Bui drove away from the field to finish half a lap ahead of Neil Ingram and Tam Bui in third just over a second behind. Gary still the only driver in the 33 second bracket with a 33.574 more than half a second faster than his closest rival Tony Knauth with 34.246 seconds.
Round #5 the final round for the evening was another close battle between Nathan Tampe and Gary Bui with Gary taking the win in the end just 1.30 seconds ahead again Tam Bui in third, Tony Knauth 4th, marc Christianson 5th, Neil Ingram 6th, Rob Ralston 7th, Tim Nicol 8th, Skip Jackson and Henry Bui rounding out the Top Ten.
The Pro Buggy final results were Gary Bui - Xray XB8 - Maxpower 65 laps, Neil Ingram - MBX5R - RB 62 laps, Tam Bui - Xray XB8 - Maxpower 61 laps,
