23rd March 2007 Round # 2
Finally in between all the rain and lightning, we were able to put on a good event, driver numbers were down a little, but that certainly took nothing away from the quality of racing with 23 drivers competing in Round # 2 of the 13 round Pointscore Series. With a number of new drivers and many of the well seasoned drivers of past seasons putting on a show for the spectators, the racing was fast and furious on what was a very very grippy surface, which was giving some of the front runners a few problems with traction rollovers on a couple of the rough high speed corners. The battle throughout the the night was really between Gary Bui (Xray) and Team OCR drivers Tony Knauth (X1CR - RB) and Shannon Thissen (X1CR - RB), with Shannon taking the win ahead of Tony both on 74 laps just 4.4 sec apart after over 40 minutes of racing and Gary finishing third on 73 laps. Tony also took out the FTD for the event with 16 laps in 8m20.714 the only driver to do a 16 lap race. Another Team OCR driver Kyle Hodges driving an RB powered Caster ZX1R took out first place in the junior buggy class, with Aaron Snowball (Sacker Pro - STS) in second and Tom Jones (Caster ZX1) in third. Young Aaron also took out the RTR buggy class ahead of Brett M'Nair (Sacker Pro - STS) in second and Rory O'Connor (Rexx - Force) in third.
