13th April 2007 Round # 3
Friday the 13th saw another action packed night of hard and fast Nitro Buggy racing, for Round # 3 of the 2007 OCR Raceway Pointscore Series.
Round # 1 saw an awesome race between Marc Christianson (Losi 8, Nova Rossi) and Tony Knauth (HN X1CR, RB), with Tony taking the win ahead of Marc just 7.66 secs behind and Tam Bui (Xray, RB) in third.
Round # 2, the start saw Tony Knauth get the holeshot and streak out to an early lead in the first couple of laps only to have the steering centering spring break in the his controller. Marc Christianson took the lead in what was another awesome battle between him and Team OCR driver Shannon Thissen (HN X1CR - RB), with fellow Team OCR driver Neil Ingram (MBX5R - Go Tech) hot on their tails in third.
Round # 3 again had Marc Christianson out in front, with Gary Bui (XRAY, Max Power) chasing him, Gary putting in the fastest lap time of the event with a 28.780 trying to catch Marc who was the only driver to do a 16 lap race. Shannon Thissen finished in third.
Round # 4 the 2 top drivers on the night Shannon Thissen and Marc Christianson again raced hard in this heat, with Shannon Taking the win 9.50 secs ahead of Marc, and Tam Bui in third one lap down on the leaders.
Round # 5 the final round of the night finished the same as round 4 with Shannon in the lead Marc second and Tam in third, Skip Jackson (HN X1CR - RB) put on a nice controlled display of driving to finish in fourth ahead of Tony Knauth in fifth, Neil Ingram in sixth and Junior buggy driver Henry Bui ( Xray - Maxpower) in seventh.
The final results for the night in the Pro Buggy class saw Marc Christianson take the overall win on 75 laps, Shannon Thissen in second on 74 laps and Tony Knauth in third on 71 laps, and in the RTR Buggy class Brett McNair (Sacker Pro - STS) finish ahead of Bradley Jackson (HN X1CR - STS) in second and Rory O'Connor (Rexx - Force) in third. The Junior buggy class was won by Team OCR driver Kyle Hodges (Caster ZX1R - RB) , Henry Bui (Xray - Maxpower) in second and Bradley Jackson (HN X1CR - STS) in third.
