OCR Raceway Open # 3

Neil Ingram takes a clean sweep, picking off the fastest lap at 33.556 secs, the FTD at 14 laps in 8m 26.083 secs, and then taking the overall event win ahead of some heavy competition. Tony Knauth with the next fastest lap at 33.745 secs and Phillip Ciccone 33.825 secs. Although Neil didnt have it all his own way, with Tony taking the wins in Round 1 and 2 but getting caught up badly on the first lap in Round 3 and finishing in fourth, let Neil MBX5R - RB into the overall lead on 6 points going into Round 4 with a 1 point gap on Tony X1CR - RB with Tim Nicol MBX5R - RB in third on 12 points, with the circuit really coming on with a nice line developing, Round 4 saw a great battle ensue between the 2 front runners Neil Ingram and Tony Knauth, with Neil coming away with the win ahead of Tony after running out of fuel on the last lap and Tim Nicol in third. With 2 wins in a row this gave Neil a 2 point margin overall going into Round 5. Again it was the Top 3 Neil, Tim and Tony pushing each other to the limit, with Tony ending up with the win 13.17 secs ahead of Neil with Tim in third 23.95 secs down and Phillip Ciccone MBX5R in fourth, Phil, Neil and Tony all running in the 33 second bracket. Round 5 closed up the overall points again with Neil Ingram on 9 points Tony Knauth on 10 points. The final round of the night was always going to be a ripper with the Top Spot still up for grabs between Tony and Neil, both drivers got a big holeshot on the field on the start getting away and clear were running head to head putting on a good show of talent, with the lead swapping more times than not between the 2. But in the end it was Neil driving his well hooked up RB powered Mugen ahead of Phillip Ciccone driving an OS engined Mugen and Tim Nicol another RB / Mugen combo, with Tony's X1CR / RB package finishing in 3rd after flaming out on lap 10 with a rock in the flywheel, John Chau a newcomer to the sport with the only Kyosho in the field coming in a creditable 5th place.

Congratulations to

Neil Ingram - MBX5R - RB - 10 Points

Tony Knauth - X1CR - RB - 14 Points

Tim Nicol - MBX5R - RB - 21 Points
