UPGRADE / RCiD 2008 Points Series - Round # 5
Round # 5 of the UPGRADE / RCiD 2008 Points Series saw another fantastic night of Nitro Buggy action take place, with some fierce competition going on for the Series Champion honours. Round 1 was a great battle between Gavin Newman - Xray 808, Neil Ingram - MBX5R and Marc Christianson - Losi, with Gavin taking the win and the event FTD, 20.35 secs ahead of Neil and Marc one lap down in third. Gary Bui - Xray putting down the fastest lap of the event with a 34.081 seconds. Round 2 had Marc Christianson out in front finishing 4 seconds ahead of Gary Bui - Xray on 13 laps with Neil Ingram taking the number 3 spot with John Chau - Kyosho in fourth and Tim Nicol - MBX5R fifth. Round 3 again had Marc Christianson out in front taking a well deserved hard fought win finishing just 6.74 seconds ahead of Gary Bui with Neil Ingram again in third, Gavin Newman taking fourth with Nathan Tampe - Hyper in fifth, Shaun Rawlings - Xray, John Chau - Kyosho, Paul Baddock - Xray, Kyle Hodges - X1CR and Tom Jones - X1CR rounding out the Top Ten. The overall scores after 3 rounds were Marc Christianson 5 points, Neil Ingram 8 points and Gary Bui 13 points. Round 4 saw Nathan Tampe pull off a brilliant win 5.49 seconds ahead of Marc Christianson with Tony Knauth - Xray finishing just 1.11 seconds behind in third. Round 5 the final round of the night saw 2 Xrays out in front with Gavin Newmans RB powered 808 finishing a lap ahead of his closest rival Tam Bui with his RB powered XB8 EC with Nathan Tampe - Hyper 8.5 just under 2 seconds behind in third, Marc Christianson fourth, Gary Bui fifth Neil Ingram Gary Puttock - RC8, Tim Nicol and Tom Jones filling the lower placings.
