Saturday 25th - Finals

Pain takes it all!!!!!

After Pain taking a fantastic win at the AINC09 last weekend, picking up the TQ for the NT Championships the Main Final was always going to be a huge battle, between Pain and dual Australian Champion Wayne Walker and no one was disappointed with what ensued, although with some drama on the start line with the TQ Pain flaming out, the very talented driver had it all to do to chase down Walker in the 45 minute Main, and on lap 55 did it, when Walker had a flame out issue himself, letting RC 8 driver Pain into the lead, and the super quick driver never relinquished the lead for the next 38 laps finishing 8 seconds ahead after a gruelling 45 minutes on the super fast circuit, both Pain and Walker the only drivers getting into the 26 seconds bracket. With such an exciting battle going on at the front, the rest of the field was left in their wake, Andrew Dun - MBX6 visiting from Queensland put up a big fight to hold onto third place for most of the race except for holding the early lead but dropping to third on lap 22, Dun held that position to finish 88 laps. The two Team Hobao drivers Ashleigh Frensham and Logan Bruecher battled with each other all race, Bruecher finishing 8 seconds ahead of Frensham, David Simms from Western Australia driving an MBX6 in sixth place, with the top placed local driver Marc Christianson driving a Losi 8 seventh, Kevin Lewis - OCM 8th, Haley - 808 after battling with Dun early came to grief late in the race to finsh ninth ahead of local driver Nathan Tampe - Hyper 9.

Friday 24th

After 6 rounds of qualifying on what is proving to be an awesome fast grooved circuit, its still Josh Pain and Wayne Walker battling it out, but its Pain following on from his win at the  2009 Aussiemove International Nitro Challenge last weekend with the Top Qualifier position, Pain also with the quickest lap of 26.012 secs. The Finals action continues tonight at OCR with the 1/4 finals scheduled to start at 7.30pm.
