2009 Homewrap Summer Nitro Series Rnd #4
Bui puts it on the Podium!!!!
Tam Bui - Xray 808 takes out a very hard fought win in one of the closest points series battles we've seen, over round #3 winner Skip Jackson - MBX6 and Tony Knauth - Hyper 9 in third.
Round # 1 went to Jackson with a win over Bui, Shaun Rawlings putting his Force pullstart powered Xray XB8 EC in third, Gavin Newman - Xray 808 fourth and John Chau - Xray 808 topping out the five. Round 2 saw Phillip Ciccone - MBX6 put it all together to take the win over Newman and Knauth, with Jackson and Gary Bui - Xray 808 fourth and fifth. Round 3 had Knauth in front with Tam Bui second Kyle Hodges - HN X1CR third, Tim Nicol - MBX5R - fourth, Newman fifth, with Ciccone, Rawlings, Gary Bui, Jackson and Chau rounding out the Top Ten. Round 4 saw Ciccone take another win ahead of Bui and Knauth. The final round of the night was always going to be a tough battle with Tam Bui the man to beat for the outright win, but after a hard fought 15 laps, it was Jackson with the round win taking the FTD for the night also, Ciccone home in second, Bui third.
Bui having done enough during the night though to come out on top with 17 points, Jackson on 22 points and Knauth on 22 points also, with second and third decided on time Jackson 13.53 seconds faster over the 5 rounds.
