With the first of the Crawler Comps at OCR being run in conjunction with a Nitro Buggy event, the crawlers had a huge crowd of spectators on hand to see what the awesome machines can be put through, with both Outlaw and 2.2 classes being run, the crowd got a good taste of the action to come as the 2009 Rock Cralwer season gets underway. Being the first event driver numbers were limited, but we can expect that to change very quickly with a number of new Crawlers being purchased in the last week and during the event. On to the action!!!

Round 1 of the Outlaws saw Steve Li driving a HBX Outlaw up against Nick Burgess driving a super bling full alloy Acme Crawler King, Li putting on a great show to get through the course with a perfect score at -6 points in a time of 2m20s, Li was on fire in all the rounds taking a clean sweep, against Burgess to take the outright Outlaw Class win.

Final Positions for Outlaw Class

1. Steve Li - 4 points

2. Nick Burgess - 8 points

 

Round 1 of the 2.2 Class had Nick Burgess and Jay Withnall both driving Tamiya battling against each other to finish the round 10 points apart with Jay taking the win, Round 2 saw another close battle between Jay and Nick with Nick taking the win, Round 3 was a very close stage with Jay, Nick and Steve seperated by just 7 points Jay taking the win on 22, Steve Li 24 and Nick Burgess 29. Round 4 the final round of the night was all Nick Burgess finishing 21 points in front after clearing all the gates cleanly Nick finished with 19 points in a time 3m14s, Steve Li 31 points in a time 3m27s, and Jay Withnall 33 points in a time of 2m55s.

Final Positions for 2.2 Class

1. Nick Burgess - 7 points (win on time bonus)

2. Jay Withnall - 7 points

3 Steve Li - 10 points
