Nitro X Masters NT Series Rnd #2
Mugen and Manalvo Dominate !!
Sergio Manalvo - MBX6 - OS dominates the night taking 4 out of 5 rounds!!!!!!
This event not only see's Round 6 of the the 7 round Homewrap series but also incorporates Round 2 of the National Nitro X Masters. Anthony Jackson - MBX 6 - RB goes into the nights racing as outright leader of both Series, just ahead of Knauth - Hyper 9 - RB and Nicol - MBX 6 - Ninja.
On to the racing!!!!
Round 1 Pro Buggy: The sizeable crowd of spectators saw Manalvo take a 1 lap win over Marc Christianson - MBX 6 - RB and Tim Nicol, with Tom Jones - Xray 808 - RB and Kyle Hodges - X2Cr - RB fourth and fifth. Hyper Truck had Knauth out in front from start to finish, taking the win one lap ahead of Dean Baker and Scott Newhouse.
Round 2 Pro Buggy: again had Manalvo dominating the race, also setting the fastest lap at 30.133 seconds. Christianson and Nicol second and third a lap off the leader. Hyper Truck: Knauth pulled off a big holeshot only to come to grief on lap 2 with fried motor, Danny White pusshed hard to hold out Dean Baker and Dave White, with Gary Clark and Newhouse rounding out the Top 5.
Round 3 Pro Buggy: A clean sweep from Manalvo see's him at the top of the leader board again putting a lap on the field ahead of Hodges and Christianson the pair finishing 0.48 seconds apart at the line. Jones and Nicol fourth and fifth. Hyper Truck: The final truck round for the night saw Scott Newhouse take his first win in Hyper truck ahead of Danny White and Baker with Knauth and Dave White fill the Top 5 slots.
Round 4 Pro Buggy: Had Knauth putting a stop to Manalvo's dominance, Knauth had been struggling all night with engine issues, finally putting it together to take the round win ahead of Christianson and Nicol.
Round 5 Pro Buggy: The final round of the night saw Knauth and Manalvo out in front early with the Holeshot the pair battling hard until Knauth's engine troubles resurfaced allowing Manalvo to put a gap on the field to finish the night off on a high, Knauth hanging on well to finish 3.2 seconds ahead of Nicol, Jones fourth, Christianson fifth.
Jackson still holds the outright Homewrap Series lead by a slim 1 point margin over Knauth, Nicol 2 points behind in third. Henri Raafs holds a good lead over Steven Peckham and Rory O'Connor in the Sport Buggy class. Manalvo moves into the lead in the Nitro X Masters Series ahead of Christianson and Jackson.
Another fantastic night of RC Offroad Series racing at OCR, Great Atmosphere, Great Racing, Great People, what more could you ask for!!!!
