Hobao and RB take two in a row!!!
Tony Knauth driving an RB / Hyper 9 combo takes the win in both Pro Buggy and Hyper Truck classes making it 2 in a row!!!
The Hyper Truck control class, growing day by day with new drivers joining in on what is a very competitive, exciting and very affordable class of RC motorsport, the class in a very short period of time has overtaken the Nitro Buggy's in driver numbers, and getting close in lap times, with a new record set last night of 32.919 secs, the trucks now within 2 seconds of the Nitro's lap times, it's pretty easy to see why Short Course Truck racing is spreading like wildfire across the RC world!!!
On to the Racing !!!!
Round 1 Pro Buggy - See's Phil Ciccone - MBX6 - Nova Rossi back on the track with a vengeance, taking the Pro Buggy win after a tough battle with Tim Nicol - MBX6 -RB and Tony Knauth - Hyper 9 - RB, Ciccone making a break for it in the late stages to finish 12.71 ahead of Nicol, Knauth a further 3 seconds back in third, Tom Jones - Xray - RB and Steven Peckham - RC8E fourth and fifth. Hyper Truck - Had Dean Baker and Knauth out to an early lead, with Newhouse, Christianson and Wolfe all pushing hard to make up the gap, Baker having issues in the closing stages to finish fourth, Christianson, third, Newhouse second 22.61 secs behind Knauth in first.
Round 2 Pro Buggy -Had Nicol out front with a big Holeshot of 46.89, just 0.04 off the Holeshot record, Ciccone just behind him with 47.49secs, Jones and Knauth, chasing down the frontrunners, Ciccone making a mistake on lap 11 to let Knauth into second, then a misatke from Nicol on lap 13 let Knauth past into the lead to finish 8.56 secs ahead of Nicol, Ciccone third, Jones fourth, Baker fifth. Hyper Truck - saw Knauth lead from start to finish, and set a new FTD record with 9 laps 5m30.465, Baker and Newhouse battling all race with Baker getting the better of Newhouse, Russell King and Sean Stieber fourth and fifth, Stuart Lack, Brad Stott, Dave Whie, Marc Christianson and Gary Clark rounding out the Top Ten.
Round 3 Pro Buggy - Saw another great battle, between Jones, Nicol, Ciccone and Knauth, with Knauth just getting the better of Nicol on the line by 4.78 seconds, Jones third just under 6 seconds back, Ciccone and Baker fourth and fifth. Hyper Truck - Baker got the Holeshot to get away early on, Christianson and Knauth pushing hard to chase down the leader, Baker making a couple of mistakes late to let Knauth through for the win, just 4.32 ahead of Baker, Christianson 12 seconds down in third.
Round 4 Pro Buggy - Had Jones out in front with the Holeshot closely followed by Baker and Ciccone, Ciccone pushing through for the win, Nicol throwing down some quick laps, to come through to finish in second just 3.02 behind the leader, Jones settling for third ahead of Baker and Rory O'Connor - TTR - RB. Hyper Truck - Saw Dave White take a well deserved win over Baker and Newhouse, the trio putting on an awesome show, with just 9.67 seconds seperating them all on the line.
Round 5 Pro Buggy - Was an awesome race to watch with the Top 4 Jones, Nicol Ciccone and Knauth making a real race of it, with Knauth pulling off the win in the end ahead of Ciccone 9.78 secs behid, Nicol and other 3 seconds back and Jones in fourth another 12 seconds back, Baker home in fifth. Hyper Truck - Another great race with Christianson and Knauth putting on a show out front, Christianson holding out Knauth until the second last lap, making a mistake coming off the crossover, handing the win to Knauth, Christianson finishing just 4.53 secs behind and Scott Newhouse under 7 seconds back in third, Gary Clark and Russell King battling for fourth and fifth.
