Knauth and Manalvo battle to the end for the Title!!!

After nearly 500 laps of racing throughout the series, Sergio Manalvo (MBX6 - OS) and Tony Knauth (Hyper 9 - RB), went into the final round of the series on equal points, with both drivers right on the pace, the night was always going to be a battle to the end, with the pair swapping the outright lead over the night it came down to the very last race to decide the title!!!

On to the Racing !!!!

Round 1 Pro Buggy - Manalvo - MBX6 off to a good start getting a good clean run to take the win, ahead an awesome race for second between Tim Nicol - MBX6, Skip Jackson - MBX6 and Knauth - Hyper 9, the trio pushing very hard, showing some real respect for each other with some 3 wide racing lap after lap, with Knauth taking the number 2 spot ahead of Jackson and Nicol. Short Course Truck - Saw Knauth not only back racing the Hyper 10 for the final round but to his winning ways in the truck, taking a commanding win over Dave White - Hong Nor and Steve Peckham - Hyper.

Round 2 Pro Buggy -Not a good round for Knauth with a couple of uncharacteristic flame-outs midway through, dropping him to fifth behind Steven Peckham -RC8E in fourth, Neil Ingram - MBX6 getting up to speed to take third behind Jackson and Manalvo taking the win ptting a lap on the field. Short Course Truck - The trucks putting on a fantastic show, with Peckham, Newhouse, Dave White and Knauth going head to head lap after lap, with Knauth getting away from them in the end to put a lap on White, Newhouse home in third ahead of Nathan Tampe and Marc Christianson

Round 3 Pro Buggy - Knauth finally puts one on the board to keep the series alive, closing the gap to Manalvo down to 1 point, Manalvo having a tough race finishing in fourth behind Nicol and Jackson. Short Course Truck -Knauth not getting it all his own way this time with Christianson leading for most of the race, a small mistake letting Knauth through for the win by 3.89 secs, Tampe holding on for third ahead of Baker, Newhouse, Peckham and White.

Round 4 Pro Buggy - An awesome race to watch with the Top 3 running lap times within 0.2 seconds of each other alp after lap, Knauth coming through for the win in the end 5.67 ahead of Nicol, Manalvo 14.56 behind in third, this out come brings the Series down to who wins the next race wins the Series. Short Course Truck - another of those races where you couldnt blink or you missed something, it was so close, with Tampe, Newhouse and Knauth pushing each other to the limit, Newhouse getting the better of the field to finish in front 1.87 secs ahead of Tampe, Knauth just 0.01 secs behind in third, Christianson and Peckham fourth and fifth, Steiber, Clark, Martinelli, White and Barton rounding out the Top Ten.

Round 5 Pro Buggy - This was it, the decider between Manalvo and Knauth for the outright 2010 OCR Champs Series, Nicol getting the Holeshot ahead of Peckham and Jackson, Knauth and Manalvo mid pack, Knauth getting caught up early on for a couple of laps, finally breaking through to chase down Manalvo, Manalvo under pressure making a few uncharacteristic mistakes, to let Knauth through to take the win, putting a lap on the field, Manalvo second ahead of Nicol, Jackson and Ingram. Short Course Truck - such close racing in the Short Course field, with the Top 3 Tampe, Newhouse and Knauth rubbing panels throughout, Knauth pushing though for the win exactly 1 sec ahead of Newhouse, Tampe 1.97 further back in third.

Another great night of racing from OCR, with some fantastic wheel to wheel action throughout all the fields making for an entertaining night for the vocal crowd of spectators, and now with the 2010 OCR Champs Series run and won, we now move into the next 3 round Series - the 2010 Short Course Shootout to round out the 2010 season at OCR..

The 2011 Event Calender is due to be released over the coming weeks.
